With profound sadness, I report the passing of Richard “Dick” Malacrea, who left us on April 17th, 2024, at the age of 92. Dick was a founding member of the Athletic Trainer’s Society of New Jersey. He was a previous EATA President and a District 2 Director. He sits in both the ATSNJ and NATA Hall of Fame.
From 1967 to 1997, Dick was the Head Athletic Trainer at Princeton University. His impact on the profession is without measure. Our deepest condolences go to his wife Joan and his children, Rick Malacrea and his wife Deirdre, Ray Malacrea and his wife Denise, and Robin Malacrea and her husband Nick Ivanoff. He was the cherished grandfather of Richard, Cory and his wife Claire, Andrew, and Curtis.
