ATSNJ Members Honored at NATA Convention

The National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) held their annual convention in late June. Several New Jersey athletic trainers were honored during the convention. These athletic trainers have made New Jersey a leading state in sports medicine and student-athlete safety. Let's meet the recipients:

David Csillan at NATA Hall of Fame

David Csillan at NATA Hall of Fame ceremony. 

David Csillan was inducted into the NATA Hall of Fame. He is a former ATSNJ president (1999-2000) and 2008 ATSNJ Hall of Fame inductee. David has been influential with development of heat policies and prevention of exertional heat stroke. He currently works as an athletic trainer at Ewing High School.

David Middlemas received the most Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award. He is a 2017 ATSNJ Hall of Fame inductee. David has been integral in developing the ATs Care program. ATs Care offers crisis management for athletic trainers. David currently works as a professor at Montclair State University.

John Furtado received the Athletic Trainer Service Award. He is a former ATSNJ president (2013-2015) and currently serves on the Governmental Affairs Committee. John has made numerous contributions towards expanding athletic training legislation and state licensure. He currently works as an athletic trainer at Princeton University.

Robb S. Rehberg, PhD, ATC, NREMT

Robb Rehberg received the William T. Griffin Award. He is a former ATSNJ president (2007-2009) and 2011 ATSNJ Hall of Fame inductee. Robb is widely known as an expert in sports medicine and emergency care. He currently works as the Coordinator of Clinical Education at William Paterson University.
