Presidential Remarks

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Welcome to the 33nd Annual ATSNJ Conference and Business Meeting at The Double Tree by Hilton Somerset Hotel and Conference Center. Conference co-chairs Kevin Briles, Mary Jane Rogers, and their team in conjunction with the Rowan University Athletic Training Program are proud to once again present another exciting, informative, and educational two-day program.

This year the educational program offers a wide variety of topics, which include the most current research and information that encourages critical thinking and evidence-based practice for our members. Attendees will be provided with a state of the art conference offering a total of 7.5 CEUs that includes 1 EBP CEU. This year we are honored to have Douglas Casa of the Korey Stringer Institute as our Keynote Speaker, followed by our Annual Business Meeting discussing this past year’s achievements as well our future plans and direction of the society.

Our student program will once again run concurrently on Sunday afternoon focusing on various topics in athletic training and featuring a roundtable discussion of professionals in various settings, developed and organized by our ATSNJ Student Committee. The day will conclude with the now Annual Quiz Bowl, where our New Jersey Athletic Training Programs compete against one another in a fast-paced, friendly competition. Monday includes an excellent opportunity for our students to attend the general session and network with professionals and exhibitors.

I would like to acknowledge the Conference Committee, which includes Kevin Briles, Mary Jane Rogers, Jessica Springstead, Natalie Spissell, Amanda Balarinni, Steven Barandica, Bill Reger, Douglas Mann, Robert Sterner, Erin, Pletcher, Karen Manista, and Charlie Thompson along with all those whom have volunteered their time behind the scenes. A special thank you to Candida Taylor, the ATSNJ Associate Director, for all of her time and work on the conference. Without this group of dedicated people, the conference would not take place. I extend my deepest gratitude to the work of this committee.

I hope that our 33nd Annual Conference and Business Meeting will provide you with a rewarding educational experience and an opportunity to connect with friends and colleagues. I look forward to seeing you.

Regards,
