Recently in conjunction with the New Jersey State Department of Education (NJDOE), certified athletic trainers in New Jersey’s public schools obtained an “Educational Services” certificate. This first-of-its-kind recognition requires New Jersey’s athletic trainers to demonstrate acquisition of continued professional development activities. Currently, certificated personnel, including the public school athletic trainers, are required to obtain 100 NJDOE approved hours every five years; the vast majority, if not all, of the NATA approved hours will be acceptable for both.

These instructions will explain how to apply for a provider number.  The application process is free and can be done through the Department of Education's website.
