Title: ACL Injury Prevention Clinic
CEU: 3.0
Summary: Researchers suggest that several anatomical and neuromuscular
factors can predispose athletes to non-contact Anterior Cruciate Ligament
(ACL) injuries. While anatomical factors cannot be controlled,
neuromuscular imbalances can be. Our program was developed to address
these imbalances through a systematic progression of functional
sport-specific exercises. Although the risk of ACL injuries cannot be
completely eliminated, taking a proactive approach through year-round
preventative programming will offer the best chance of remaining healthy
and competitive. This clinic highlights ACL injury prevention principles
and emphasizes exercise technique instruction in a learn by doing
format.
